What is it ?
HelpMeKeybind is an addon designed to help you get used to using keybinds. Weather you click and want to make the trasition to keybinds or simply wish to improve your reaction time with your keybinds, this addon is built to help.
How does it work ?
HelpMeKeybind acts as a sandbox in which you can practice using your keybinds. Your keybinds will scroll across the screen and as they do you press the key(s)/button(s) that correspond to them.
If you key the correct keybind, a 'Correct' will flash on the screen. If you key an incorrect keybind, an 'Incorrect' will appear on screen. If you wait too long, the spell / ability will scroll off-screen and counted as incorrect (the speed of the scroll frame can be adjusted in the options menu). Spells / abilites will continue to go until you press the finish button.
Once your game session is over, you're given a detailed 'Skill Analysis' report (See picture).
Getting Started
Type '/hmk show' to bring up the main frame.
Click the keybinds button. At this point, you have a menu called keybinds (see picture). This is an emulation of the default blizzard binding UI. However, instead of being given actions to keybind, you type in your own. Populate this menu with your spells/abilities and corresponding keybinds. Once you have all of them entered, you're ready to play.
Simply press the start button and your spells / abilities will begin to scroll across the screen (in a random order, by default).
Notes
- The keybind menu in HelpMeKeybind is purely for the HelpMeKeybind game. It has no effect in the actual WoW.
- There is a current maximum of 30 keybinds. This can easily be increased, but I wish to start off with this number to see how the addon handles.
- To begin the game, you need at least one complete keybinding. A complete keybinding requires a unique name AND at least one corresponding keybind.
- Variables are saved on a per char basis
